ROCKS & MINERALS

 

Mineral specimens mined in Livingston County and surrounding areas are displayed in the Rock & Mineral Room. Mining equipment, pictures, and stories from over one hundred years ago are featured.

The School Room

Step back in time to a classroom from days gone by. Tour a school room filled with memorabilia including a potbellied stove and old wooden desks. 

Photo Collections

 

Schools and churches, along with various other topics are on display. Reminisce, research, and learn what life was like in another time.

People

Musicians, elected officials, writers, artists, and so many interesting people are showcased in the Museum. There are military exhibits with information about veterans and Gold Star Boys.   

Special Collections

“Smithland – On the Cumberland River” is on display with miniature replicas of many homes and buildings from the turn of the century. The murals in the main courtroom are one-of-a-kind along with post office displays, and old bank collections.

Replicas of the steamboats, Silverthorn and Robert E. Lee, built by local artist Mark Trail are on display as part of our special collections.
